WHERE YOU CAN FIND
As the village is in the countryside ,you have to take care about anything that you may need for your stay there.There are local shops ,superamrkets ,groceries ,bakeries ,bank ,pharmacy ,Health Center.etc in the nearest village Agia ,which is before you arrive at Megalovryso.The shops work from Monday to Friday from 8.30 o clock in the morning till 9 o clock in the evening (some of them may close earlier).On Saturday super markets work until 8 o clock.
You can find some shops ,like bakery, open on Sunday but not the supermarkets. Bank works every Monday to Friday 8.30 a.m to 2.30 p.m but there is always an ATM in case you need some cash.Restaurants and coffee shops work all day long until very late at night.The pharmacy usually has the same working hours as the shops ,although it may vary some times.
There are two big super markets in the area of Agia that you can find everything you need during your stay. It’s just 10 minutes by car from Megalovryso.
Megalovryso has a traditional Greek Taverna where you can enjoy your lunch or dinner. During Summer time you can have your meal under the shade of the big plane trees and during winter you can enjoyed next to a fireplace. Don’t forget to try our traditional roast meat(Kontosoubli), the traditional cheese from Agia and the wine. Ιt is always a good idea to visit the villages that they are close like Anatoli, Metaxochori ,Melivoia and also try the traditional food there.
Agia has a café where you can enjoy yourselves all day long .There are also lots of cafés at the beach-Agiokampos where you can drink your coffee ,beverages or even a tasty cocktail . Υou might just want to drink your coffee at the villages taverna.
The Health center is 15 min away from Megalovryso by car ,located in Agia,as well as the Police and the Fire Station. In case of emergency you can can call Police, ( the number is 100), the Fire Department (the number is 199) and in case you need the ambulance call 166. In small places like villages pharmacies have a phone number so you can call them if you are in need of medicine or in some cases they stay all day long.
